FMA Foundation announces inaugural gala in support of Fort Meade community

February 7, 2020 – The FMA Foundation is proud to introduce the Stars in Service Gala, a formal event on November 21 that will celebrate those who serve our country and our community.

This FMA Foundation signature fundraiser will take place from 7pm to 11 pm at the new Hall at Live! Casino & Hotel. We are excited to have Brian Mitchell, former Washington Redskins star running back, serve as the Honorary Host Committee Chair.

Coming off the heels of its successful $3.6 million fundraising campaign, the Foundation is continuing the momentum of raising funds for additional programming at the Resiliency and Education Center and the expansion of the FMA’s vital education and workforce development initiatives and programs that serve our military personnel, their families and the community at large.

“Our vision is to make Fort Meade the most vibrant community of military, civilian personnel, veterans and families in the region,” said Deon Viergutz, FMA Foundation President. “Donations directly help the military and their families, STEM education and creating the workforce of the future.”

The black-tie optional affair will include a night of dinner, dancing and gratitude. Through our sponsors, we will be offering free tickets to military personnel and their spouses, as well as many public figures who help our community thrive. The night will also include a Silent Auction with a variety of fun and high-demand items.

“The FMA Foundation is strong and with the support of the Fort Meade Community, we can be even stronger,” said Steve Tiller, Gala Committee Chair. “Proceeds from the gala will fund important efforts that will keep our region thriving.”

With the initial kick-off underway, we already have incredible support from the Fort Meade community. Thank you to Lockheed Martin for signing on as a top-level sponsor, as well as the other early sponsors.
