The Fort Meade Alliance Foundation Welcomes Two New Board Members

February 16, 2021 – The Fort Meade Alliance (FMA) Foundation is pleased to welcome Sean Battle of BigBear.ai and Jim Thomas of JPMorgan Chase as the newest members of its Board of Directors.

“We’re excited to have Sean and Jim join the FMA Foundation Board of Directors,” said FMA Foundation President Deon Viergutz. “They both have an enduring passion and commitment to Fort Meade and the region. Their leadership will continue to increase our ability to provide impactful programs and services for the military and families, education and workforce.”

Battle has more than 30 years of experience in the intelligence and DoD community. He began his career as a Signals Analyst in the U.S. Air Force and later served as a civilian executive with NSA. He co-founded PCI in 2008 and was crucial in guiding its growth into a major player in the marketplace. PCI recently merged with NuWave Solutions to become BigBear.ai, where Battle is Vice Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). He has been a member of the Maryland Bar for 16 years and is active in the Armed Forces Communication Electronics Association (AFCEA) and the FMA.

Thomas is a Vice President with JPMorgan Chase Middle Market Banking. He has served the Maryland business community for the past decade in various banking roles. Thomas is responsible for originating and structuring credit facilities and developing growth strategies for mid-sized companies throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. He works closely with his colleagues at JPMorgan Chase with a focus on government contracting, but serves client’s financial needs across all industries.

Battle and Thomas join the now 14-member board led by President Deon Viergutz, Lockheed Martin Corporation; Vice President Frankie Velez, Praxis Engineering Technologies; Secretary Allyson Lestner, Legacy Group and Treasurer Jay Baldwin, Atlantic Union Bank.
