Scott Hansen was awarded the Colonel Kenneth O. McCreedy Scholarship at the 2023 Annual Meeting and Cocktail Reception held on Thursday, June 15th. When he was a student at Meade Senior High School, Scott developed interests in computer science, software engineering and cybersecurity.
During his high school career, Scott participated in the Homeland Security signature program where he is the sole student aid in addition to being the vice president of the Cyber Patriot Club. Additionally he was involved in the construction of Meade High School’s Wall of Heroes that honors military service members and first responders.
In the fall, Scott will attend the University of Maryland Baltimore County to study computer science and cybersecurity. After graduation, he aspires to become a software developer in a cybersecurity company such as Lockheed Martin, Booz Allen Hamilton, Northrop Grumman, or the NSA. Congratulations Scott!
