FMA Foundation Awards Annual McCreedy Scholarship

June 15, 2016 – The Fort Meade Alliance Foundation awarded the annual Kenneth O. McCreedy Scholarship to Meade High School Senior Jazzlynn Bender. She will attend Bowie State University in the fall to study criminal justice.

“Jazzlynn is well deserving of this scholarship,” said FMA Foundation President Deon Viergutz. “She is a motivated and committed to meeting her career goals. We wish her much success as she pursues her passions.”

The McCreedy Scholarship is awarded annually to a Meade High School student who plans to pursue higher education in the field of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) or linguistics. Recipients must also be the child of military personnel or Department of Defense civilian employees.

 The scholarship recognizes outstanding, well-rounded graduating seniors for their past achievements and aids them in accomplishing their career goals. Each scholarship is for a total award of up to $4,000 for a four-year college program or up to $2,000 for a two-year college program.
